26-12-2023

The United States anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders on Canadian softwood exports to the United States will remain in effect.

The U.S. International Trade Commission ruled 4-0 in favor of its Forestry Division, stating that "dumped and subsidized imports of wood from Canada continue to pose a threat to the U.S. industry."

According to a press release issued by the influential American Wood Coalition, the lifting of the order against "unfairly traded Canadian imports" will result in the resumption of dumping by as much as 7.28 per cent, and Canadian government subsidies by as much as 19.62 per cent.
