Increased U.S. Demand Pushes Lumber Prices Higher
Madison's Lumber Reporter says the price of the Western S-P-F 2x4 #2&Btr KD (RL) is $404 mfbm for the week ending 10 November 2023. That's up $24, or 6%, from $380 the week before.
That week's price was up $20, or 5 per cent, from $384 mfbm a month ago.
Compared to $490 mfbm a year ago, that week's price was down -$86, or -18 per cent. Compared to the weekly price of $620 two years ago, this week's price is down -$216, or -35%.
The price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2x4 #2&Btr KD (RL) for the week ending 10 November 2023 was US$405 mfbm. This represents a decrease of -US$10, or -2%, from the previous week's price of US$415.
That week's price is down -$64, or -14%, from US$469 mfbm a month ago.
Compared to $450 mfbm in the same week last year, the price for that week is down -$45, or -10%. Compared to $810 (MFBM) two years ago, this week's price is down $405, or 50 per cent.
