China's sawn timber import prices rise nearly 50 per cent in August
In August, China's log imports of 2.6842 million cubic metres, a year-on-year decrease of 26% to; imports fell 3.34 billion yuan, down 33.1%.
Imported sawn timber also became the first negative growth after this year's Spring Festival holiday, down 9.7%, with imports of 2.16 million cubic metres and imports down 21.1% to 3.69 billion yuan.
From the sawn timber average price point of view, the average price of imports in August rose to 1,710 yuan / cubic metre. In July, the average import price was RMB 1,161 per cubic metre, the lowest average price of the year, and the average price in August rose by 47.3% compared with July.
